Super Tuscan top classic from a cult producer!

Terroir, production method and ripening: The grapes are picked from calcareous soil. Some of the nurseries were planted in 1968 and the vines are planted at a density of 3500-5000 vines per hectare. The grapes are separated from their stems and the wine ages in 1500 liter cement tanks with local yeasts. Malolactic fermentation continues until spring, after which the wine clears naturally. The wine matures for a year in 225-liter French Allier oak barrels and for a year in 1000- and 1600-liter Slavonian oak barrels. During bottling, the wine is not clarified or filtered.

Use: With grilled flank steak and hard matured cheeses.

Description: Deep aroma with sour cherry and herbal spiciness. The dry taste is rich and the spiciness of the oak stands out from it. The tannins are strong but fine-grained, and the acidity is typically fresh for Sangiovese.
