A wine that pays tribute to the history of the papal institution in both Finland and France.

Terroir, production method and maturation: The wine is inspired by the legend that Bishop Henrik was supposed to found a Catholic church in Finland in the 12th century, but Pakana Lalli killed him with the ice of Köyliönjärvi. In Finland's first printed book – Missale Aboensesa from 1488 – there is a picture of Bishop Henrik, who was declared a saint, trampling Lall. The village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape has formed around the castle built as a summer residence by the second pope, Pope John XII, during the imprisonment of Avignon in the 14th century. Already at that time, John XII allowed local winegrowers to call their wine "Vin du Pape". The grapes used for the wine are hand-picked from organically cultivated vineyards, whose soil consists of large round stones and sandy clay soil. These vineyards, whipped by the mistral wind, have once formed the bed of the Rhône river. After removing the stems, the grapes are crushed and the wine ages in cement tanks. The wine matures in large oak barrels and cement tanks for 12-15 months before bottling.

Use: For game birds roasted in the oven.

Description: Deep aroma, with dark black raspberry, fig and spice. The structure of the wine is rich and maturely tannic, and in its taste you can also sense the relaxed leatheriness brought by age.
