Viinitie's mission is to create a better wine culture and we work towards our mission every day, regardless of wine style and price. In addition to our selection of wines suitable for everyday life, there are treasures of the wine world, the availability of which is limited, and for this reason the market price is also considerably higher than the average price of a bottle of wine. We are happy to store these wines in our cellars to wait for particularly meaningful moments, and many of these wines also get better as they age. Grab some tips for end-of-year celebrations, for example!

Knoll Ried Loibenberg Riesling Smaragd 2020
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/936342/Knoll-Loibenberg-Riesling-Smaragd-2020/
Emmerich Knoll, one of the top Wachau producers, is known as the creator of long-lived Austrian wines. Saint Urban, the saint of wine producers and vineyards, who adorns the labels, is a familiar sight in the cellars of wine collectors, where the bottles of wine mature for years thanks to their intense fruitiness. As a Smaragd-classified wine, the grapes are allowed to ripen for a particularly long time, which makes the wine abundantly rich and concentrated.
Zarate Balado Albariño 2019
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/949066/Zarate-Balado-Albari-o-2019/
Spain's Rías Baixas has become known to more and more wine lovers in recent years thanks to its fruity and fresh albariños. The Zarate family farm, piloted by Eulogio Pomares, has been chosen among the world's 100 best wineries, and it's not surprising. Made from a 0.3 hectare vineyard, this wine has an intensity that goes back to the 70 years of ungrafted vines. Due to lees aging, the wine has an abundance in the mouthfeel, although the strength that supports the whole comes from the acidity brought to the grapes by the maritime climate, which means that the wine is at its best after a few years of bottle aging.
Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Prephylloxera 2020
The top wine of the producer who recently visited Finland and made Etna wines famous is made from the Calderara Sottana vineyard. The grape aphid has never wreaked havoc on the garden, so ungrafted vines are up to 150 years old. Often compared to Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo, Nerello Mascalese produces red-fruited wines with plenty of acidity and tannins that allow for maturation. This wine can be kept in the cellar for more than a decade - if the wine collector himself has enough patience!

https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/907046/Oddero-Barolo-Villero-2017/
Demand for Piedmont wines has grown exponentially in recent years. This estate wine from the famous family farm is produced from a plot in the village of Castiglione Falleto, which is only 0.8 hectares in size. The wine matured in large oak barrels for less than three years gets better in the bottle, and before drinking the wine should still be decanted to maximize its aromatic multidimensionality. Classic Barolo at its best.
Artadi Viña el Pison 2018
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/925001/Artadi-Vi-a-El-Pison-2018/
Rioja's famous family-owned Artadi estate produced the first vintage of Viña el Pisonia in 1991. The wine is made from a 2.4-hectare plot whose vines were planted in 1945. Due to quality disagreements, Artadi separated from the Rioja appellation in December 2015 and thus no longer uses Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva on its labels - markings, because in their opinion, quality is made in barns and not in cellars. This wine will mature nicely for another 10-20 years.
Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial 2011
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/934858/Castillo-Ygay-Gran-Reserva-Especial-2011/
The 2010 vintage of Marqués de Murrieta's Castillo Ygay was voted the best wine in the world in 2021, when the farm's winemaker María Vargas was also voted the best winemaker in the world. If anything, this proves that the quality of Rioja's oldest house is still more than adequate after 170 years of existence. The wine matures for two years in oak barrels, after which it continues to mature in the bottle. Wine is made only in the best years and the 2011 bottle is the farm's newest vintage on the market.
Le Pin 2014
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/946892/Le-Pin-2014/
This wine proves that Merlot can produce world-class wines. The wine produced and matured in Pomerol in a small cellar is a unique specimen of the famous Thienpont family. Many wine lovers dream of tasting wine, let alone enjoying it, all their lives. An allocation of only 2 bottles of the 2014 wine vintage arrived in Finland, which indicates the extremely small production volume of the wine and its rarity.
Torbreck Descendant 2018
https://www.alko.fi/tuotteet/939446/Torbreck-Descendant-2018/
Barossa Valley's classic farm wine is the younger brother of the farm's other famous wine, RunRig. The grapes used for the wine are obtained from vines that have been planted from the genes of the RunRig shelter. Aromaticity and elegance are brought to the wine by the Viognier mixed with the Syrah variety, which gives the wine a strong but silky tannic structure. Even in the maturation of the wine, the small-brother-likeness is evident, as the wine is allowed to mature in oak barrels that have previously matured RunRig.
