Burgundy with its numerous appellations is home to many wonderful wines, vineyards and stories. The long history of the Morey family and Roland Lavantureux of the Chablis region are excellent examples of this.
Pierre Morey
The history of the Morey farm stretches back to 1793, since which time every generation of the family has both looked after the farm's orchards and made wines from the area's grapes. Since 1971, the farm has borne the name of Pierre Morey, and since 1991, the farm has used biodynamic and organic farming methods.
Pierre's daughter Anne started working alongside her father in 1997, at the same time as all the farm's own vineyards were certified for biodynamic production, and today Anne is responsible for both the vineyards and the wines maturing in the cellars.
Today, Anne's son in his twenties works part of his mother's team, but the beautifully oaked wines, fermented without added yeast strains, are still entirely Anne's handiwork.

Roland Lavantureux
The Chablis region in French Burgundy is certainly one of the most famous quality wine regions in the world. The star of the region, which consists of numerous small rye farms and villages, is Chardonnay, whose styles vary depending on the farm and the grower. Operating under the name of Roland Lavantureux since 1979, the space, now run by the brothers Arnaud and David, is known for its rich, intense and lively style.
Roland Lavantureux owns both 1er Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, and they are all cared for using natural methods. The wines from different parcels are vinified separately, and depending on the vintage and the wine, both steel vessels and oak barrels are used in the production. In 2020, the official conversion to organic production began.
